Terms of Service
Please read these terms before using CycleVault or purchasing a subscription. We've written them in plain English wherever possible.
- CycleVault is a personal tracking tool — not a medical device
- Your cycle data lives on your device only and is never sent to us
- Subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe and can be cancelled anytime
- Refunds are available within 14 days of purchase under EU consumer law
- We are not liable for decisions made based on cycle predictions
- These terms are governed by Hungarian law
1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using CycleVault ("the App", "the Service") at cyclevault.app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use CycleVault.
These Terms apply to all visitors and users of CycleVault, including users of the free plan and users who have purchased a paid subscription.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify users with an active paid subscription by email of any material changes. Continued use of CycleVault after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Description of the service
CycleVault is a web-based period and menstrual cycle tracking application. It allows users to log cycle dates, symptoms, mood, flow, and personal notes. All data entered into CycleVault is stored exclusively in the user's browser local storage on their own device.
CycleVault is technically designed so that no health or cycle data is ever transmitted to our servers. We do not receive, store, or process your cycle information at any point.
CycleVault offers two tiers of access:
- Free plan — full access to period tracking, symptom logging, mood logging, cycle history, and data export, at no cost and with no account required.
- Pro plan — includes everything in the Free plan plus additional features including cycle insights, pattern analysis, and custom reminders, available via a monthly subscription.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years of age to use CycleVault. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.
To purchase a paid subscription, you must be at least 18 years of age or have the permission of a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf.
4. Subscriptions, billing, and payments
CycleVault Pro is offered as a monthly recurring subscription. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc., a third-party payment processor. CycleVault does not store or process your payment card details.

By clicking "Subscribe", you authorise CycleVault to charge your payment method through Stripe on a recurring monthly basis until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from Settings → Subscription or by contacting us at hello@cyclevault.app.
5. Cancellation and refunds
Cancellation: You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time through Settings → Subscription → Manage Subscription, or by emailing hello@cyclevault.app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to Pro features until that date.
Refunds — EU consumer right of withdrawal: Under EU consumer protection law (Directive 2011/83/EU), you have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days of purchase without giving any reason. To exercise this right, contact us at hello@cyclevault.app within 14 days of your subscription start date. We will process a full refund within 14 calendar days of receiving your withdrawal request.
By proceeding with your subscription and immediately accessing Pro features, you acknowledge that performance of the contract has begun and you expressly consent to this. Your right of withdrawal remains intact for 14 days regardless, in compliance with EU consumer law.
Refunds after 14 days: After the 14-day withdrawal period, subscription payments are non-refundable except in cases of service fault or where required by applicable law. Partial-month refunds are not provided. If you cancel mid-month, you retain Pro access until the end of the billing period.
Exceptions: We will always consider refund requests made in good faith, particularly if a technical issue prevented you from using the service. Contact us and we will review on a case-by-case basis.
6. Your data and privacy
Your cycle data, symptoms, notes, and all health-related information entered into CycleVault is stored only in your browser's local storage on your own device. This data is never transmitted to CycleVault's servers or any third party.
The only personal data CycleVault receives is your email address (when you purchase a Pro subscription through Stripe) and payment confirmation. This is used solely to manage your subscription.
Full details of how we handle data, your GDPR rights, and how Stripe processes payment data are set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Your responsibility: Because your cycle data is stored on your device only, you are responsible for backing it up. If you clear your browser storage or switch devices without exporting your data, it cannot be recovered. CycleVault accepts no liability for loss of locally stored data.
7. Health and medical disclaimer
CycleVault is a personal tracking tool. It is not a medical device, not a contraceptive method, and not a substitute for professional medical advice. Cycle predictions and pattern observations provided by the app are estimates only and may not be accurate for your individual cycle.
CycleVault must not be relied upon as a method of contraception. It cannot reliably predict or prevent pregnancy. If you require contraception, consult a qualified healthcare provider.

8. Acceptable use
You agree to use CycleVault only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of CycleVault
- Use the Service to store or transmit unlawful, harmful, or offensive content
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its related systems
- Use automated tools or scripts to scrape, crawl, or interact with the Service in a way not intended for human users
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person or organisation when using the Service
- Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit the Service without our written permission
9. Intellectual property
CycleVault, including its design, code, branding, content, and all associated materials, is owned by CycleVault and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use CycleVault for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
Your content: Any data you enter into CycleVault (cycle logs, notes, symptoms) belongs entirely to you. We make no claim over your personal health data. Because it is stored only on your device, we have no access to it whatsoever.
10. Service availability and changes
We aim to keep CycleVault available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances outside our control.
We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue features of CycleVault at any time. For Pro subscribers, we will give reasonable notice of any significant changes that reduce the features included in your plan, and offer a pro-rata refund if a core feature is removed during your billing period.
If we discontinue CycleVault entirely, we will give at least 30 days' notice to active subscribers and issue pro-rata refunds for any unused subscription period.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CycleVault and its creators shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service
- Loss of data resulting from clearing browser storage or switching devices
- Health or medical decisions made based on cycle predictions or app content
- Any inaccuracy in cycle predictions or phase estimates
- Interruption or unavailability of the Service
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable EU or Hungarian law.
Where EU consumer protection law grants you rights that cannot be excluded by contract, those rights are unaffected by these Terms.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of CycleVault shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Hungary.
If you are a consumer resident in another EU member state, you retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence and to benefit from the mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country's law.
EU Online Dispute Resolution: The European Commission provides an Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not obliged to participate in alternative dispute resolution but will always attempt to resolve disputes directly and in good faith. Contact us first at hello@cyclevault.app.
13. Third-party services
CycleVault uses Stripe for payment processing. Stripe operates under its own terms of service and privacy policy, available at stripe.com/legal. By purchasing a subscription, you also agree to Stripe's terms.
CycleVault does not use any other third-party services that receive your personal data. We do not use analytics platforms, advertising networks, or data brokers.
